Expanded Young adult Outreach

Tl;dr Version

Young adults (post-high-school, ages 18-22) are welcome to attend Eagle Catholic events — even if you don’t go to school at USI.

Long Version

If you’ve graduated high school, but haven’t quite found your Catholic young adult community yet, we invite you to give Eagle Catholic a try. Whether you went straight into the work force, are taking a gap year, attend Ivy Tech, or are just home for the summer… you are welcome to join us.

FAQ’s

  • For Eagle Catholic events, young adults are post-high-school, ages 18-22.

Our community events, such as 3rd Monday Socials at Sacred Heart, are open to post-high-school young adults, ages 18-24.

  • Yes! We are expanding our outreach to include young adults who attend other local colleges, such as Ivy Tech, and who are in the work force.

While our branding will continue to be USI-focused, and the vast majority of our events will be at or around the USI campus, young adults from various walks of life are invited to:

    • Come to Mass with us

    • Attend our events

    • Join a Bible study

    • Attend or apply for travel trips

There are 2 exceptions to this open invitation:

    • Community members can’t play Intramural sports. That’s a USI policy.

    • If an event is hosted in the gym itself, you’ll need a $6 day pass, which you can get on the day of the event.

      • Sand volleyball events are outside and don’t require a day pass.

      • The Religious Life offices and Mass on campus are located across the hallway from the gym, in the Recreation, Fitness, and Wellness Center (RFW). Anyone may enter the RFW during business hours, for free. The day pass is only necessary if the event is inside the gym itself.

  • The diocese considers young adults 18-35 for their Theology on Tap events, Trivia Nights, etc. Learn more about diocesan young adult ministry here.

On that same website, there’s also a section called “Local Groups.” These are local parishes that have a dedicated young adult ministry.

  • Most of our events require no RSVP. Check our events calendar for the latest information.

  • Our most common meeting location is RFW 133 - The Recreation, Fitness, and Wellness Center. You can enter via either the north or south entrance. Map here.

  • View the Campus Map here: check the “Parking” layer to see the lots. Green lots are for public access.

  • Many young adults struggle with the transition between high school and adulthood, especially if students don’t attend one of the local colleges.

Eagle Catholic is able to provide consistent, regular opportunities for recently-graduated students to find community and grow in faith with other like-minded young adults.
